Remember and Stand up

I spent a lot of the summer of 2016 backpacking and researching in the Pacific Northwest. While examining the heavy history of settler-colonialism and ecological destruction in the region I wanted to take time to do quiet studies of my favorite local flora. I found an unexpected family of Chanterelle mushrooms, a bunch of huckleberries, a sprig of yarrow and puzzle-pieces of Ponderosa Pine.
The format for this series is not an accident. I love getting mail and this is a gesture towards continuing the process of hand-writing a letter or a thank-you card. A celebration of slow-down-time and of looking closely. |
